SDHS VIDEO ARCHIVE INDEX

This index includes digitalized VHS tapes to 2008 and subsequent digital videos covering both oral history interviews and special SDHS events. This collection will be available for viewing on request at the Old School House Discovery Center beginning in 2010.  In addition, families and documentarists may access relevant original or “raw” video material, on request, for creating high resolution copies.

An oral history interview is defined as an individual or related individuals sharing historically relevant experiences related to the Saugatuck/Douglas area. Since 2009 these videos are broken into short segments or “chapters” by topic to facilitate research.   A synopsis of the interview as well as photos are usually provided in addition.

A video event may include important local meetings, celebrations, quest speaker(s), panel discussions, and the like.  Some of these are converted 8-16 mm movie film dating as far back as the 1940s. These videos run as long as the event lasts.  In the future, many events held in the OSH may be recorded automatically.

This index will be updated as new material becomes available.
